While observing the old masters painting techniques (for previous posts follow #штриховка_paradise) it’s worth mentioning Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519).
He was one of the most diversely talented individuals and through the scope of his interests he kept searching for secret meaning of life.

This “universal man” used the most complicated form of hatching.
The hand natural movement defines the angle and the direction of the hatched line and Leonardo was left-handed.
His sketches consist of parallel lines smoothly curving the all the reliefs of the surface.
He used inclined hatching for drawing the air.
